Anyone using STARBAND internet Sattelite System?

Starband has offerings thru Dish Network as well as thru MSN/Radioshack.

I'm ordering the service thru Dish Network very soon. you dont have to buy the $1200 compaqcrap computer, and you get satellite TV thrown in

You may want to stay away from Starband. I have seen the specs and it isnt much faster than a 56K modem. They don't promise 400K only 150K so it isnt that great.

Of course you may want to wait for another satelite service which is going to provide 2 megabit downloads and 128K uploads. That is about what a cable modem will do. I take it that your in a area that can't get dsl/cable.

I have a friend who has the Directwirelessweb, but only downstream. They're releasing the two-way satellite fairly soon I guess. He's gotten good service from them, so they may be a good alternate.
