My friend has this program with his burner but hasn't installed Win2000.

Have you checked the company website for Windows 2000 support?

I really dont see why it wouldn't work.

I use the sony 10x burner, and its not a piece of crap. In fact the Sony is the 2nd best on the market. Mine has never let me down.

The Extreme software doesn't work under win2k.

So what? I use Nero, CDRwin, CloneCD and directCD with no problems under win2k. For mp3's I use MusicMatch JukeBox.

Uh oh. How in hell did I burn those CD's yesterday with my Sony burner, Sony CD Extreme and Win2K?

Of course Sony CD Extreme works with Win2K. All you need to do is download the Sony CD Extreme Win 2K update from here.

Edit: Although Iron Woods erred in saying that CD Extreme doesn't work with Win2K he is absolutely correct with his assessment of the Sony Spressa drives. I agree with him completely there: the drives are great.

I was unaware of the update for Extreme. My version would not install under win2k. Therefore i never used it.

My humblest apologies.:)

I use a Sony 8X4X32 Supressa,(scsi), it works fine with adpatec 4.02 easy cd creator and I have also used it with CDRWIN, but you need to install the Aspi layer with win2k with CDRWIN, but IMHO, do it, that prog is AWESOME! I found the best way of installing the ASPI layer in win2k on these forums located Here

Good Luck,

Jim
