My friend's DSL modem just fried a couple days ago, so now he's been without internet for a while now, I think this is really driving him insane, I mentioned to him that DSL companies usually give you 20-30 hr dial-up a month just in case. Now, I just want to make sure if he has that luxury or not.....he signed up just last month, anyone knows the answer?

used to have it so it answer it. sbc gives u unlimited backup dial up account.

SBC = evil RBOC, but aren't they all

i'm dumping LoadRunner for Yahoo! DSL, since its cheaper anyway. RoadRunner service has become awful ever since the AOL merger plus i'm less than 3500ft from the CO

You mean even the cheapest plan has the unlimited dial-up to back it up?

yeah.. SBC DSL has unlimited dial up. Used it once when my dsl was out for a day. But this computer doesn't have a 56k Modem.
