Anyone using round SATA cables?

My case's drive configuration makes it difficult to get a non-stressing bend from the flat drive cables that came with the mobo, so I'm wondering if the round SATA cables available now are any more flexible. If so, any issues with them? Thanks.

Negative. All these choice still use the typical flat ribbon-style cable that is too inflexible for my needs. I've tried all the angled options, and would like to give the round ones a try. Hence my question.

It's not so much the connector on the cable I'm concerned with as the one on the drive. The plastic (especially at the bottom) of the data connector is so fragile that it can be broken off without too much force. It's the most glaring flaw in the whole SATA design; I'm very careful with these when working on my system, but because of the inflexibility of the cable itself, I've broken the connectors on two drive. A real PITA.

I put all round cables in my original build... they are actually pretty nice to work with and bundle/zip tie well. The cables themselves didn't last as long as I would have liked... I've had to replace them one by one, and eventually (just last week) pulled them all out and replaced them with new ribbon cables. I was getting SATA errors with one of my SSD's... originally I thought it was the drive, but as soon as I changed the cables out, everything is fine. For that reason I don't use round cables any longer... although I don't know why a round one would be any less reliable than a flat ribbon. Just my experience.

I still use many angled ribbon cables myself on the main.

I guess I have never tried a round one so I can't say there.

I've used round ones for like forever. Can't really stand the flat red ones. Cheap junk.

Good to know. I may give them a whirl, just to see if they work as well consistently. My other option is to mount my drives upside-down in the trays that go with my case (Antec Sonata II). Fun!

Yea, I really liked the round cables... they routed better and didn't get hung up on the panel like the flat ones do. I got mine from NE, maybe check a different source (but they are probably all made by the same company.)
