I'm paying probably the lowest price possible out of the 4 major carriers with tmobile course the $10 and $25 plans on republic look even more reasonable. I'm not a heavy data user, mostly only texts among my friends, very little voice calls, and maybe surfing a bit on my favorite forums.

For your usage republic would be great. It's on sprint however so even the 4G won't be very fast but for forum browsing it should be fine. Your usage is essentially republics target audience.

Assuming Sprint has solid coverage in your area then go for it.

We have the Moto E and voice over wireless sounds great. Been with RW for 2 months now and no complaints. Switch over from wireless to Sprint is seamless. Drove down to FL recently and coverage was great all the way.
On their $10./month plan, $12. + change with fees and tax. Like the fact that if you need 3G you can change plans 2x during the billing cycle.
