anyone using Real VNC?

both PCs on same home network

I can't connect from my viewer to my server.

However, if I put my viewer in Listen mode and initiate the connection from my server, it connects immediately.

I can ping both ways fine and I can access the net from either PC.

any ideas?

Are you running any sort of software firewalls, and do you have a password set on the server?

Crazy. I've used VNC for years and have never run across that. Have you re-installed VNC to make sure it's nothing as simple as that?

no software firewalls.. just the one on the router... no passwords set.. i normally don't use/set encryption stuff until after I having everything working - just to make sure my security isn't screwing it up.

Poulsonator, i just d/l the program about 20 mins ago, so it's a fresh install.. but maybe i'll try that.

ok nevermind.. reinstalling on both sides did the trick.. duh..
