I use one for my basement stairs. It has worked well for the 4 years or so since I put it in. Haven"t replaced the batteries yet either.

Yep. I have a handy switch. For some moronic reason, the living room light in my apartment has a cord running over to the nearest electrical outlet. I got a handy switch and now its like a normal light. Works great.

Because you're not Billy Mayes! I don't know if he actually comes up with the shit he sells, but some of it is awesome. I love Oxy Clean and a few other products he peddles. This handy switch is like the Clapper only less convenient but the idea is still bad ass :D

I have an X10 deal where you screw the receiver into the light socket and plug the transmitter into the wall. It works great in the spring/summer/fall when it's warmer outside. Now during the winter I can't send the signal 30 feet to my garage to turn off my garage lights. Turns off the back porch light (about 10 feet) just fine.
