NF-F12 iPPC-3000 PWM Fan with Focused Flow is on sale @ Newegg for $22.99.

Anyone using these? Happy with them?

these are fans meant for gamers or servers.

@ 3k rpm they are not quiet at all, infact no 3k fan is quiet period.

I say gamer, because you wont care about fan noise when you got stuff blowing up on audio, and well servers... its common to say "what? these pizza boxes are screaming, can you repeat that.."

other then that, they are ranked as one of these best fans for radiators and heat sinks, if you dont mind the noise again.

If you are looking for a Noctua fan that is a good balance of performance / quietness, take a look at the NF-A12x25. Since they were launched a few months ago, it is about $7 more than the fan you asked about.

I personally couldn't handle the noise of their Industrial Lineup. I know the model you listed can go as low as 750 RPM, but it will be louder than the fan I mentioned at every step.

This thing is a beast (I'm not accounting Delta or SanAce). And as far as my experience goes, you won't notice the humming noise until it hits 1500rpm. I use silent mode from BIOS so my Athlon only needs 1300rpm to stay below 55°C

Thanks, all!
I should have been more specific to help y'alls opinions. I have a NAS and HTPC that sit in basically a hidden space in between back to back rooms. The original owners built a closet in one room and then left an alcove between the closet and fireplace. I just covered up the alcove with shelves to match the rest of the room. There is a space that's about 20"(w) x 34"(d) x 8'(h) behind the shelves now that I use for storage.

I measured the temperature in the space over the year. In Summer, it gets to be 84F and in Winter, with the fireplace stoked, it gets to be about 78-80F. So it's basically a lack of insulation from the attic that shows the heat/cold temps.

So to my requirements, I'm looking for long term fans that will be able to manage heat and dust. Noise isn't a priority.

However, thanks for the other, more quiet fan ideas - I need them for my fun (games) PC which I guess I could call it my, "Top Gun Demo" rig. (That comes from the old Circuit City Audio/Visual selling points - pop in the tape/DVD of Top Gun to the catapult launch sequence and crank the audio up.) It's that loud.
