Anyone using Mushkin PC3200 "Green" or "Blue" with 865/875 mobo?

At under $100 per 512 MB stick and 2.5-4-4 timing the "Green" looks like a good deal. The "Blue" at $129 is still somewhat reasonable, though it isn't really clear from the site why it's better at stock speed (besides having the decorative heatspreader).

I know people generally like Mushkin, but is anyone here actually using "Green" or "Blue" in their i865 or i875 mobo? Any initial timing problems? How is it working now?

I don't have an 8xx chipset, but I have 2x512 sticks of mushkin pc3200 blue. I am using an nforce 2 and have run up to 213mhz fsb (426 ddr) without any memory hickups @4-4-2.5 timings. My processor will not go higher.

I'm running two sticks of Blue in my P4 2.6C paired with an Intel D865PERLK. I got it for $85 each a month ago; it's really skyrocketed in price since.

I'm only running it at stock speeds, so I can't really comment on aggressive timings. But it works great and I didn't have any problems. CPU-Z identifies the memory as Geil brand.

I just ordered a couple of sticks of the Green over the weekend for another PC I'll be building. It's too bad it's not available anymore as it was just $76 for a 512MB stick of PC3200. You might want to wait for the weekend to order as that's when they usually have the best deals plus free shipping. The 10% ANAND code is set to expire tomorrow though.

I think the only difference between Blue and Green is probably quality/brand and the possibility of OC'ing higher. If you're running stock, I doubt there's much of a difference. I personally chose Blue because of the psychological benefit of higher quality for my workstation. 🙂
