Anyone using Enermax PSU + Gigabyte 7VRX(P) Mobo ... Please help !!

Hello guys,

Does any of you using an Enermax PSU >= 350W and a Gigabyte 7VRXP Mobo experience a high frequency sound coming out from the PSU ???

I know its strange. I have an Enermax 350W with manual fan speed control. Even if my GA-7VRXP doesnt have anything on it but the power connector of the PSU + the power switch, the PSU makes a high frequency sound (almost similar to the sound a TV makes, but in the PSU's case its very auduble) about 15000 Hz which drives me crazy. Its volume depends on the CPU load as well. CPU load high, sound volume high.

I am almost positive its the combination of the two (this Mobo and the PSU) because if i change either the PSU or Mobo the sound is gone and everything normal.

I really need to know if there are some of you running Enermaxes on their GA-7VRX(P) because when i change the PSU i should know to demand another brand of PSU or just a higher (>350W) Enermax PSU.

Also, if anyone reading this thread and has a GA-7VRXP mobo using another brand of PSU that doesnt make strange noises ... please tell me so i can decide which brand to choose for the new PSU.

I don`t have the Gigabyte board but do have an Enermax 350w (EG365P- VE model) and it`s quiet,I would exchange the PSU for a replacement or different model.

I tested the Enermax on other boards and it doesnt make strange sounds. So i need answers from people who have a GA-7VRXP boards
BTW, i love the PSU also ... thats wy i would want to hear that otghers don't have problems with it on 7VRXPs .. i would just RMA it and get another one.

I'm using an Enermax 431W PSU on my Gigabyte GA-7VXRP and it works like a charm. No strange noises or any other problems. I would consider replacing the PSU if you think it's dying. Did you try it in other systems? Good luck...

I was so in love with this Enermax i wouldnt want to replace the brand at all. I think i just had bad luck with this PSU ...

Yes, i tried with other systems (but they all were less powerfull and less power consuming systems), and the noise was still there but not so loud. Whenever i add a component, or put in a more powerfull CPU the sound gets louder. In 2 words, the more the PSU is solicited the more it screams

I'll change the PSU with a 431W Enermax (already ordered one at the guys i bought it from to test it for strange behaviour).
