I tried an Epox P4-4PEA+ with disasterous results. First the thing didn't like my ram, replaced and worked. Then it will only boot my AIW 8500DV if I clear the cmos everytime. Tried different video card (old radeon aiw) and booted. Then I tried to setup my Windows XP installed on an existing drive and the POS killed the drive upon the first boot up. Now the drive is corrupted and doesn't respond to the bios on my old machine either. I have built something like 40 plus machines over the years and I have never had an experience like this. The whole thing has nearly made me crazy!
Anyway, Epox has lost my business so I'm ordering an ASUS P4PE in hope of greater sucess. The only thing I am wondering is if my ATI 8500 card is going to work or not. I suspect a hardware compatability issue...don't know if it's Epox or the 845PE. So if there is anyone out there, please let me know.
