not just the Aria.. 🙂

There may be some that prefer the Aria, but that is probably because they either haven't fully checked out other cases, or have a hardon for Antec power supplies. Have never had problems with other mATX cases, even with cheap 200w supplies running ATi 9700 Pro, sat DVB-S PCI, HDTV PCI, DVDRW, etc.

After 4 weeks of running my Aria as a HTPC for Sat, HDTV and gaming, I am sorry I didn't stick with my previous setup. The first thing that started my disapointment was when I opened the box and saw that it appeared to be actually larger than previous system it was to replace. The Aria is not small, not quiet, runs hot, and has no provision for intake cooling without modding case. Also cheap plastic looking front kills what could have been great looks. Neat gimmick, but better choices are out there.

OK Rob - got my attention on the Athenatech case. The question is - with 2 - 60 mm fans at the rear, 1 - 80 up front, and a small PS --- can it stay quiet - or anywhere close to quiet? I plan on using it on my desk as an office machine - maybe play some games - nothing major in that area.

Quiet is one of the main reasons I was looking at the Aria for a SFF - but I really like the A100BB.

The front 80mm fan is not included. Use Panaflo L if needed.
Rear's and PS fan are silent, but rears are sleeve, so will get loud and need replaced with BB type.
The A100BB is quieter than the Aria...... Probably due to higher temp's forcing 120mm to run faster?

With the money you save on the case, you can equip the A100BB with a Zalman and other quieter fans if desired, and still have change left over.

I run my aria with the slot fan and a panaflo blowing on a Zalman AlCu cooler. I can only hear it if I move my ear within 6 inches of the box. It does run a little hot, though. That's why I chose the XP-M 35W CPU to keep things cool.

I have two of these fans running in my Aria.

I have the side fan set at the lowest rpm setting (about 1300 rpm) and the one mounted on the HSF set at about 2400 rpm. It idles at 45c and after running prime for several hours it will get up to ~55c. You can just barely hear it from a couple of feet away. I have another of the same fans that I bought to put in on the other side but haven't got around to it yet.

All and all I really like the case, I built it for my wife and she loves how small and quiet it is.
