Anyone using an 1151 MB w/ DDR3? Impressions?

I am interested in upgrading my 2010 core i5-750 on MSI P55-GD80 to an i5-6500 CPU w/ a MB that supports DDR3. Do these iterations of the 1151 MB allow voltage adjustments for the older DDR3 to run properly. Does the DDR3 (16G G-Skill 10700) run just as well on these new boards as it does on this 1156 board? I really only want a new MB and chip. Won't need a discreet video card (although I could reuse the AMD HD-5700) as I am not into games. Just want to upgrade after 5 yrs w/o breaking the bank and the RAM I have is fine for my needs.

I checked in the Skylake Cpu thread and it does appear even 1333mhz 1.5 can work.I was looking into something like pairing one of my 4gb sticks of kingston x 1333 1.5 with a G4500 with this motherboard below....

The cheapest motherboard that does work with DDR3 is the one above.No overclocking but a damn cheap choice.
