Signed up for a 30 day free trial. At first I was like OMGWTFBBQ $299/year! Then I broke down the math - it's a $220 upgrade over my current prime which breaks down to < $20/month. Assuming I can save $20 worth of time/gas every month, it would be worth it.

Got my first delivery and gotta say, pretty cool. They keep cold perishables cold by using frozen water bottles; I now have +9 water bottles from ONE delivery, which further subsidizes the cost. Also, having coffee/breakfast/lunch delivered to your door @ 8:30am is awesome.

Prices seemed reasonable compared to non-sale grocery prices, and produce quality looks pretty good from my amazing sample size of 1. Did I mention how awesome having amazon deliver coffee to my door at 8:30am is?

First order:
$1.99 Oregano, Organic, .75 oz Package (United States, Mexico or Columbia)
$0.99 Italian Parsley (Flat Leaf), 1 Bunch (United States or Mexico)
$15.00 Groundwork Coffee, Organic Angel City (Whole Bean), 1lb Can (Sold by Groundwork Coffee. Ships from AmazonFresh.)
$17.76 Nonna's, Vegetarian Combo-Ready to Heat, 6pc (Sold by Nonna's Empendadas. Ships from AmazonFresh.)
$14.95 Groundwork Coffee, Organic Cold Brew, 4 - 12oz bottles (Sold by Groundwork Coffee. Ships from AmazonFresh.)
$4.49 Bolthouse Farms, 100% Carrot Juice, 32 oz

So, anyone use AMZ fresh? Any recommended items?

hmm, I did see such a truck getting onto 80 the other day and didn't realize it was available here.

I might give it a try, if I can get a free month. Probably won't pay for it, though, as I can quickly walk to anything I need right now.

Well, we now know that OP lives in Seattle, SF, or LA and not a Warm Place as otherwise described. :p

ooooh nice. Amazon Fresh not available here. But, Fiance goes to store and does most of the shopping. Also, she makes me fresh coffee every morning.

I could have signed up for a 30 day trial.. but I have a Safeway, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, small farmer's stand/market and a Sprouts within a 5 minute walk. Pretty sure I don't need AMZ Fresh yet. 8:30 deliverys would be problematic anyways in an apartment complex.

That's nice then. From your OP, it sounded like 8:30AM was the only option. Deliveries for me go through the leasing center.. which opens from like 10AM to 6PM. Typically out of the house by 8AM and don't get back til almost 6PM so most of my packages I pick up on the weekends.

yeah I chose 830am cuz that was the only time I'm home and I'd like to be home for the delivery.

It's 9:56am right now. Just bought a few items from amazon.com that were fresh eligible - they're giving me free SAME DAY shipping on 3/4 products, and free shipping on the last one O_O

One of the items I ordered was an iPhone cable; I live near 4 apple stores, and it's still faster for me to buy from amazon O_O

They got some seriously crazy logistics.

I was using them a couple of years ago when I lived a mile away from grocery stores. The service was pretty good though the selection is limited.

After I moved there's a good grocery store a block away from me so I walk there instead.

Man, it's getting closer to never having to leave your home (or interact with anyone other than the UPS/FedEx guy)

I would pay $20 a month to have somebody do my grocery shopping for me.

But if the groceries are 20% more expensive and I don't have as many brand options, I'll keep trucking to Costco and Cub as needed.

On average, they're slightly higher than the lowest sale prices.

ex) oscar mayer center cut bacon, @ stores for 2.99 lowest on sale price, 3.99-4.99 regular price. 3.49 all the time from amazon
ex) coke, 4 for 10 on super sale, 3.33/ea average sale, 3.99 all the time from amazon
