Anyone using a white monitor with black system?

Just wondering how a white monitor would look next to a black keyboar, and case, and black speakers. I would really like the Samsung 900NF, but it's not black. So i think i might go with the IBM p96 in black, but not too certain. ANy ideas would be great.

I have a black Fong Kai case with black speakers and a black keyboard.

All my stuff but monitor is black. I didn't like any of the black 19 inch monitors, the IBM trinitron version seemed nice but it was too expensive for me, so I bought a sony g400. Sure, they don't match, but when your using the thing you don't think about that, and id rather have a nice monitor than a crappy one that matches.

THe IBM trinitron is the monitor i'm looking at. It is expensive, but black is not cheap these days! It's people like me that will get other companies to make black monitors. lol. They'll see IBM making lots of money off of the black line and will copy it.

Here's a nice one that you might consider before buying some monitor with a "C" grade Sony reject tube:

NEC FE950+ (Diamondtron Tube)

I'm not sure what you mean by 'C grade Sony "reject" tube' because Mitsubishi Diamondtron tubes are quite good, and I've been told that the only major difference is that they have the conventional 3 electron guns instead of Sony's single gun.

yes you can spray paint it black if you want. thats what I suggest, just buy the monitor you want and spray paint it, Ill tell you how if you PM me 🙂.

I'm referring to the tubes Sony resells to OEM's, NOT the Diamondtrons. I had a CTX 19" monitor with one of the "C" grade Trinitron tubes I was referring to and it was worse than some oldschool 19" spheres that I've seen. Actually, I take that back. I had not 1, but 3 of them. All had geometry problems, were blurry, and had discoloration in the corners. All of them were sent back for a full refund. I will never again buy a non-Sony monitor with a Trinitron tube unless I see it in person first.

And FYI, Mitsubishi makes the Diamondtron tubes. Check out their site. I own an FP950 and an FE950. Both have Diamondtron tubes and are excellent monitors. From what I read, the FE950+ falls somewhere between the two. And as to not digress from the topic, it does come in a Black case - no painting required. See the link in my first post.

The point I was trying to make was that if you are set on buying a high-quality monitor in a black case and don't want to paint, this is probably the best one you can get.

I have a white monitor with a Black System, and it doesn't really make that big of a difference. However, I would like all the stuf to match in color though. 😉

Actually, I was deciding between the NEC 950+ and the IBM P96. Each seems to have their flaws. The NEC was rated by PC World and they said it was rich and beautiful with colours, but when it came to text it wasn't as crisp and clear as other models. THey put it as number 9 out of 10 in the top 10 19" monitors. That's not that great. They don't have a review of the IBM monitor yet so i don't know what they'd say. That's why my decision is tuff stuff.

NEC and Mitsu are in a partner ship. So NEC and Mitsubishi monitors are the same exact thing, that being the best monitors with Diamondtron tubes.
