Anyone using a swiftech mc462-a with a quiet 80mm fan?

I remember awhile back some members were talking about different fan combos on the big swiftech rather than the load 68cfm delta. I was thinking about this because if I am correct its the only heatsink that uses an 80mm fan without an adapter. I am trying to make my pc quieter and was wondering if this was a potential solution. Anyone try this set up with a panaflo a something similar?

yes, I have a mc462-a and I choose the Panaflo 47cfm 3500rpm 80mm fan..
it's even quiter than the ys tech 27cfm 60mm fan..

millisec has it for $14..

I'm running the Swiftec MC462, with a Sunon 80mm on it. I believe the Sunon I have is the Sunon KD1208PTB2, 35cfm @ 33dba. Its a 3pin connector so I can run and monitor it off the mobo. I was also aiming for quiet instead of maximum cooling. My temps right now are 27 mobo/47 CPU, and ambient air temp is about 24 Celcius/75 F if my math is right. My Athlon is currently at 9 * 150 for 1350mhz at 1.75 volts.

My system certainly seems quieter than it did with my Taisol and 60mm YS Tech. I'm happy with the results. I got the Swiftec for $54 and the Sunon for $9, both from www.crazypc.com.

Well, I'm sure my temps are lower with the Swiftec, but its difficult to say how much. I switched the heatsinks right around the time the weather got warmer around here. Plus, during the brief time I had the Taisol, I never really ran my CPU above 1200mhz, where as now I'm running at 1350.

So, too many variables to say with any scientific-ness exactly how much better my Swiftec setup works as opposed to the Taisol. But the Swifty with the Sunon is quieter, and I feel confident in saying it cools better as well -- I mean, the Swiftec is obviously beast, I think you'd have to run it without a fan for it to perform poorly. 😀 I'd drop the Taisol back on and test this, but removing the Swiftec is a bit involved, so thats gonna have to wait for a time when I'm a bit more motivated. 🙂 Maybe my next round of case mods...

I have a Swiftech MC462 w/ the Panaflow H1A 80mm fan. Can't hear the fan outside of the case (even when comptuer is off, except for fan). I have a 1.0ghz@1.4ghz@1.825v@38c (current temp, have seen as high as 42c under full load).
