Anyone using 36 inch IDE cables?

I don't really need 36, more like 27 inches but 36 seems to be next common one after 24. I know ATA spec says 18 inches max but just wondering if anyone here has any success with running longer ones. Thanks.

EDIT: FWIW, it's for a DVD drive.
