Anyone used a single stud TV mount?

The studs behind my bedroom TV are about 40" apart because of an HVAC duct. I'm considering buying this to mount to one of the studs: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10828&cs_id=1082806&p_id=7846&seq=1&format=2

Anyone used one of these? Any issues? It would probably hang it off of the wall about a foot, slightly off center of the stud.

I don't have that exact one but I have had an articulating, single-stud mount for the TV in the kitchen, a 32" Sony, for a couple of years. Haven't had any issues with it and it seems plenty strong. Just make sure that you hit the exact center of the stud and properly pre-drill the mounting holes so that you don't split the wood.

I've got one similar that, got a 40" LED LCD Toshiba hanging on it. No issues. Mine is rated for 100 lbs I do believe.
