Anyone used a disposable underwater camera that they recommend?

Are there any brands/models that you like?

I was thinking about buying an underwater case for my Canon Elph but the waterproof cases cost more than the freakin' camera!

I bought the kodak one from Walmart, it worked well if the ocean was clear and it was sunny outside. Otherwise it would be almost pitch black with poor lighting. Just buy one from Walmart and go to your pool and try it out (it's about 8 bucks for one).

unless your going to use it a lot, i wouldnt get the case but just buy a dispoable when you need it. Its fun, but then again they only really work well in pools on sunny days.

I've just used the ones you get at the grocery store. Problm is they have no flash for underwater stuff that works so it has to be relatively clear water so it's bright enough to show the picture.

Probably just some Kodak under water thing we used. Don't remember for sure.

i used the fuji ones when i was in cancun. pics came out really nice. even above water pics came out like pics from any other disposable camera. i dont have a scanner otherwise id scan them so u could see the quality. but they are good IMO

Both Kodak & Fuji have underwater cameras with flash, and is rated for 50' depth. Each came with 27 shots of 800 ISO film.

I'm mostly a Fuji film fan, but in this case I would go with Kodak, because it is cheaper & Kodak film is colour is warmer than Fuji. Therefore it is better at balancing the blue colour of water.

Do you happen to know what 'model' the Kodak with the flash is? I went to a few stores and couldn't find them. The boneheads working at the place told me that it is not possible to use a flash underwater.

Sorry it is me that the bonehead on this subject. I though Kodak/Fuji still made disposable underwater camera with flash. The current cameras that they have with out flash is at 800iso should be good enought for most shooting/snorkelling situation.
