Just get a regular balance ball and sit on that (forget the chair part of it, that's BS). I'm sitting on one now and have been for over a year.
Remember to keep your back straight. You'll get used to it after about a week.

Balance balls are good for your abdominal and lower back muscles I hear. It also can help improve posture.

Can't comment on if that will help alleviate your back pain, as we don't know what is causing it.

I've seen someone at work who uses just the ball without any chair parts. Personally, I need the back support from a properly configured chair back.

Having tried one for a while, I think the posture is what helps the back problems. The balance balls will just kill you if you use bad posture, so it's more of an enforcement thing.

But I'm not a doctor.

Bouncing is fun, though.
