What are your temperatures like now?

I have to say, it wouldn't be wise to buy a new cooler for such a low end card. Rather sell it away and upgrade to a faster card.

I have one on a GTX 460 1GB and its very good. Allowed me to get my OC up to 875 Mhz (the reference Nvidia HSF couldn't go beyond 815 Mhz). Fairly easy to install - think it took about 30 minutes. But yeah, its seems like a pretty hefty investment for a GTX 550 Ti.

i hear ya man, but its not a low end card if it runs everything i do on max settings and buying a newer card wont increase performance.

and regardless, anything i buy today will be outperformed next month.

it definately is wise for me to invest in keeping it cooler instead of going out and paying for a card that will not increase my performance and just cost me money but thanks for your input

thanks dude, yeah i actually bought more ram today and now my fan wont fit on the side of the heatsink i want it to and its causing a bit of tiny buzzing which is convincing me to just go watercooling

im gonna try to look for a complete watercooling kit or a cpu/gpu seperate one, i dont know much so alot of researching for me to do :(

I have the accelero extreme on my 7970 and it keeps the gpu really cool. My problem is with the VRMs when you overclock. The heatsinks do an alright job but they hold back the card when I up the voltage.
