I've used about 8 of these over the life of my machine. (They never went bad--just had a lot of drivers). Sadly, I can't give any input as to their cooling performance, because my controller doesn't pass that information through. As far as installation, etc, they were wonderful, and I would definitely consider using them again should the opportunity present itself.

I hate to say it, but I gave them a try, and they just didnt work very well. They never gave a perfect fit on the harddrive sides. An 80mm panaflo at 5V was able to bring the harddrive surface to a drastically lower temperature than the heatsink itself. (~10C)

If you need silence, then this will be ok, but you need to open a bay cover near it to let some cooler air in by the harddrive.

I used it, but the main intent wasn't for cooling, but simply to mount the HDD on the bottom of the case. (It was a mod, and space was tight)

That being said, I didn't have a bit of problems with fit, and the HDD stayed cool to the touch.

But the relocation did mean my HDD ended up just behind the 120mm intake fan.
