Anyone use the wipe free space option on CCleaner?

I've heard that it doesnt truly work like it says, and that the program eraser is better. However, the newer versions of eraser are supposed to suck, and the older versions i cant find (and i dont know if theyre compatible with windows 7). Any programs that do similar things (ie, wipe free space)?
