Anyone use the unmodified netpliance/i-opener for net access?

Well I don't know about the i-opener, but I have a nice dusty netpliance from Virgin Mega Stores that I VERY occasionally go online with. It's not bad, connects at 52,000 bps usually. The screen is kinda sucky though..'specially when you scroll. ACK. And someone should beat the people who decided on that stupid wireless keyboard. Blech.

I was wondering earlier today if anyone's actually using these darn things...?

Someone's grandma probably does .. I suppose it's not too bad to browse news and check email every once in a while.

The new PCWorld had an article about netpliances. They all suck, are too expensive for anyone with intelligence, and of cource have that limitation of not being able to do anything ever except surf web and email, and having to pay $20-22 a month.

Assuming that the majority of the people here are smart, and that they do not have spare money to spend on things they don't need, it can be derived that the chances are few or no people here have bought one.
