What kind of burner do you have? To be honest, most brands of CDRs will work on any burner, despite what people may say. Even the crappiest of brands work on my (relatively) low end HP 8250i.
Of course they will work, but cheap brands of CD-R usually wear out quicker than quality ones. Anyways, I'd try them, it's not a huge loss if they're crap.
You get what ya pay for....That's why you bought a Plextor wasn't it....Personally with the price of higher quality cd's so low I see no reason to buy the cheap one's myself. It's safe to assume that any data you copy now you'll have no need for in 10,20 or 100 yrs....But I've used some crappy cdr's that after a couple weeks,months portions of them are no longer readable.
