Anyone use the Magellan GPS Companion for the Handspring Visor?

I just got the Magellan GPS Companion today and I'm trying to get it initialized on my Visor with no luck. When I plug the GPS Companion in to the Springboard module the Visor turns on and it comes up with a "Initialize GPS Companion" program where you input your rough location in the world (along with time, date, elevation).
Once I put in my info and hit "OK" I get a Fatal Error Fatal Exception window and I have to restart. I've done this over and over and only once did I get past it, only to come to a dead stop because the next program that comes up didn't do anything :|

I've put new batteries in and even stood outside and tried it 3 or 4 times with the same error.

help!

I really wish I could help- I got one for Christmas last year, but sold it in April to get a Garmin eTrex. I didn't get that error on mine... can you take it back still (don't yet- last ditch effort)? A hopeful bump for you to get some more help!

I bought it at Amazon.com ($97 - $50 rebate = $47 shipped) so I could send it back. Magellan's tech support is closed on the weekends and probably Labor Day as well. I'll give them a try before I send it back. Though it would be nice to get some help here

I have the Magellan GPS with the Visor and I've never experienced that error either. Have you visited www.magellangps.com? I remember having to download some patch from there a long time ago.

I went there when I first had the problem but didn't see any patch....

I'll look around and see what i can find. Man I wish I could get this thing to work!!

On another note, I should get my GPS working again. I want to try out geocaching. If you ever get yours to work, you should definitely check it out.

I tried it out and I still get the same darned error message

I just sent off an email to Megellan tech support. Hopefully they respond by tomorrow or I'll give them a call and ask them WTF is going on.

Geocaching is one of the reasons I got this GPS Companion Sure would be nice to try it out sometime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
