I read all the reviews I could find, and asked this question last week on runnersworld, but nothing. On the new Nike+ Maps beta site you can draw custom routes on the maps. I'm assuming this ties in the Nike+ iPhone app and will sync the routes. But I really don't know. Does it sync with iPhone app? And if so, does it give you audio feedback where to turn? I'm interested in making new routes every week and if the iPhone app support that, I'd go pick up an older iPhone.

Not sure about the Nike+ App, however the RunKeeper App is free and allows you to create custom routes. It does not however give you GPS directions. They have Audio Cues/coaching built-in for everything it seems (pace, speed, distance, etc) except directions.

Thanks for the reply, I have Runkeeper on my Android, but it doesn't work with Nike+ and that's my main thing. I would use the custom routes except it doesn't give you directions. I've created about a 8 pretty intricate routes which would take me a long time to memorize on my own.

I have been using the Nike+ app for a while on my iPhone and it works great...but I don't use it to create routes...I just run and let it record. It updates my Nike+ account when done (auto-sync over iPhone).

Nike emailed me back, the GPS app doesn't support this, hummm I don't have my phone on me. Do any Android GPS apps allow you to draw a route? I know that doesn't make much sense for a feature, but on Google Maps you can do it any ways.

I guess the benefit of living in the country is that roads are 1/4 mile apart. Makes routes limited.

I assume that you live in a city?

I've never used routes with runkeeper. I know you can plan routes but that's about it. Not sure whath te paiy for app can do beyond the free one.

If you go to the runkeeper web site, they have a very nice section to do route planning. It uses Google Maps as a back end. You draw a line through your planned route and it provides you distance info.

If you make a route, you can make it public for others to see. So, you can actually serach for routes other people have made to get new ideas.

yep city here, I spent a stupid amount of time drawing out the 4 routes I did in my area that are exactly 3 miles. Up and down small streets and even 1/2 way down some streets. One route has me going about 20 different ways. I believe what I'll try is a full blown GPS app and I can use my Nike+ GPS Sportswatch to actually track the running side stuff. I move at a fairly slow pace any ways, so it's not like pace and such is all that important to me :D
