Anyone use the Harmony Hub, Roomie or iRule to control their gear?

My Harmony One is on its way out. The battery lasts a couple days and the #7 button doesn't work at all. So I'm looking to get something new and of course it looks like Harmony is the only one still on the market that lets you program a remote from a computer and easy macros. I have received recommendations on going for the URC MX-450 but everything needs to be done from the remote. That just seems too tedious..

So I seen Harmony has the Hub which lets you use a smart device and there is also the iRule and Roomie Remote.

I have been a hard button only kind of guy but really considering going this route since there aren't many options.. So is anyone using any of these? Is there another option I missed?

Thanks

I am using the Harmony Hub (I actually have the Harmony Smart Control which is the hub plus a Harmony remote) and it gets the family seal of approval.

The Harmony software sucks a little bit, but I think it took me all of 15 minutes or so to get all of my activities programmed. It is nice being able to use a tablet or phone to control the home entertainment system when I cannot find the remote (which is about half the time it seems). Since the hub connects to your WiFi network you don't need line of sight either which is way more useful than I expected.

I was just going to say, OP you don't have to choose between one or the other. You can buy the Logitech system with a remote, and still have the option of using your phone too. No reason to go just phone if you don't want to.

I use a Harmony Smart Control as well. Very satisfied with it. Controls all my gear with no issues and was easy to set up. Even doing custom button assignments on the little remote was easy to do. One piece is an XBMC/Kodi box and works very well with it too.

How does the response time feel from pressing a button and it performing the task?

I just don't like layout of buttons on the new remotes. So if I were to get this I would only get the Hub and use a smart device.

Think I might just go back to keeping it simple and get a Harmony 650.. Not sure yet though..

I use Kodi as well. Thanks for the info.

It's pretty much immediate. I don't notice any difference from a standard remote. In fact, I needed to add some delays into my macros to give my equipment a chance to get powered on before setting the inputs.

I'll test it out again tonight with my phone and tablet to make sure.
