Has anyone used a fan vibration or dampener? It's those rubber or silicone gaskets that go between the fan and the case. If so, do they actually make that much of a big difference and make it quieter?

They generally won't make any more difference than holding your hand firmly on the case next to the fan... They'll prevent the fan from using the box as a sounding board, to some degree or another...

Depends how much noise your fans make because of vibration...if it's a lot, then it'll reduce the noise by a fair amount.

Actual reduction in noise levels really depends on the rest of the system, if you have whiny, vibrating hard drives and a screaming CPU fan it probably won't help too much!

I just wanted to know, because I'm going to get some loud, high speed case fans. My cpu is runs hot, so I want to cut some holes and pop in some more fans.

I just downloaded Motherboard Manager and it's been running about 50 C. I think I've had some crashes that I think are heat related because I can't even turn it on again until I let it cool off for a while. I don't even want to think about how hot it gets during the summer. All I have for cooling so far is a small HD fan, the CPU fan and a sleeve bearing case fan.
