Anyone use the DigitalDoc 5+ temp/fan monitor?

I am looking to save a few $$ on electricity. I keep my computer on 24/7 and was thinking that I could save a $$ if the fans automatically slowed down at night as the house cools off. I figure the thing would pay for itself after a while. The DigitalDoc 5+ seems to be one of the best. Any thoughts?

from what i remember when reading about the digitaldoc, it actually can't control fan speeds, only turn fans on and off

The digidic doesn't work that way. The best you can do automatically with a DD is switch fans off based on temp. You need some sort of rheostat for that kind of control.

Thanks for the inputs. It looks like the DD5+ does not do what I want. It seems that the Thermaltake Hardcano 13 is a better choice. There are a few on-line reviews, the opinions are anywhere from 4/10 to 8/10. May have to pick one up at "Buy/Try/Return Fry's".

Why not just turn off you PC? Things will certainly last longer.
