How can anyone justify spending $60-100 for this? I got mines free from T-mobile and the quality is horrible, sometimes it'll say camera is not connected, you can't forward the pictures to anyone other than those using the same carrier, and you can't even use the image for anything else other than to store it on your phone. We need some more of the great features that the Asian market has other than this overhyped lame ability to take pictures.

Cause you got the crappy one. Get a real camera phone, Sanyo 5300. Sucker takes sweet pictures. Much better then any webcam I've seen and probably as good or better then those cheap digicams that only do 640x480. I've had mine for nearly 4 months and its great.

EDIT: I should add that you can not only send the pics to other Sprint phones but upload them directly to a website and e-mail them to anyone. You can also get a data cable and download the pics directly to the computer.

I use it quite often with my Sanyo 5300 as well.... You would never realize how handy having a camera with you at all times is....

<--- LOVES HIS SANYO 5300~!

All that would be great if the camera can take decent pictures. I got the Motorola T720i. It just looks too horrible although i think I can download t he pictures to my computer if I got the cable. Don't they already have video features over in Asia?

Yep. I think Sprint is one or two steps away from streaming video. Check out 1KTV, an Vision app/service. I think Sprint has said somewhere, unofficially, we'll have some video capabilities by the end of the year.

yep, an autotimer, and a bunch of image/balance/lighting controls... :)

Another sweet feature, you can close the lid of the phone while the camera is on and see yourself so you can take a picture in the external color LCD :)

T-Mobile uses GSM, while Sprint uses CDMA (or TDMA, dont remember)....

I used to be on tmobile but switched to sprint a month ago.

LOVE THE PHONE AND THE SERVICE!

This phone has AMAZING reception!

Basically, you want the best, come to sprint. Sanyo has an agreement to provide phones exclusively for Sprint. Given that I already love sprint service, its a win-win:cool:

DAMN! :(

Well, what's in store for the next generation of phones? Built in sound cards? Better graphics processors?

I think Sprint might be implementing PTT like Nextel. Rumor is that video is coming to the phones pretty soon. I think there will be more advances in PDA phones. Intel just introduced a new processor, low power, specifically for phone/PDA useage.

service depends largely on the area. for me the service sucks (Houston).

I've heard it is good on the east coast though.

As far as prices, after MIR's, and 1 yr contracts, you get good color phones for free with Tmobile (S105). The plans on Tmobile usually have more anytime minutes for the buck, and you can take it international, and text message internationally :)

Well i just came from TMobile, and used my cell phone internationally for 4 months.... Its EXPENSIVE though to use tmobile abroad though($0.99 a minute) so i called up and got my phone unlocked. I was able to get a prepaid card from a Dutch cell company and ended up using that the whole time.

The reason i left tmobile was that their service in florida has SUCKED for the past year. As soon as AT&T built their GSM network in Florida, all tri-band international tmobile phones would get confused about which network to use. 95% of the time my phone would choose AT&T's network, changing my phone to 'Emergency Only' and not letting me make nor recieve calls. Even using the manual settings did no good, as AT&T's coverage overpowered TMobiles network.

What I get for not waiting. Bought mine the day after it hit the stores, $350. Luckily I had a $100 equipment rebate prearragned. Even so, best phone I've ever used.
