I learned yesterday of the existence of the Swiftshader software which allows systems w/o hardware pixel/vertex shaders, hardware T&L to run games that require such gobble de *****. Well that's me, I've only got an Intel GMA 950 running on a pentium dual core 1.73ghz. I'm hardly a serious pc gamer but thought I'd try it anyway, so I installed the Fantasy Wars demo which my system normally couldn't support. The framerate seriously sucked but it was interesting that I was able to boot the game.

Just curious if anyone uses this tool. I suppose it would be good for laptops with mediocre video but really fast CPU.

I tried something like that way back in the day for BF1942....sure, the game worked - at about .3 FPS. Things may have improved since then but I doubt it's that good of a solution.

Looks like the auto censor got me, so I checked urban dictionary. Guess I now know how to insult any punk ass koreans who might cross my path

The long-time bandaid for junker IGP video has been 3Danalyze, which emulates T&L in software. It can't do anything about the snail-like slowness of the chip, of course.
