Anyone use Smoothwall?

I use the commercial version. Have for years and works very well for me. I would imagine that the open source version is equally as good...IMHO.

Thank you ITJunkie. My IT department is getting ready to evaluate the commercial version for our school district. I was thinking about setting up the free version at home.

never messed with smoothwall but just finished setting up the open source version of Untangle...very nice setup with lots of options to turn on/off depending on what you need.

I use smoothwall for my SSH gateway firewall for my home network, works great. I like how you can block outbound stuff too. I have it setup so the SSH gateway is behind that firewall (both in a VM) so when I'm remoted into the SSH gateway the smoothwall limits my connections to my main network.
