Anyone use Slyvania DOT-it lights?

How is the beam pattern? Is it super bright and mostly directional? Or does it spread out quite a bit? Looking for a cheap lighting solution to my room that also is small and wall-mountable and these lights look perfect.. but I need to know how well it lights. I don't want it to be shining into my eyes if I have one at eye-level.

I have one. It is quite bright, but very directional. I can turn it on at my desk and aim it across the room on the wall (probably ~11 feet away) and easily pick out the spot on the wall, even with the overhead light on.

These would not work at all as the sole source of room light, IMO. It would be like trying to light the room using a flashlight.
 
Doh.. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for on the wall lighting. Trying to replace a halogen torch style light I had but got rid of since it was in the way of some furniture.
