Anyone use SlimX with any car kit (not Iriver car kit)?

I tried to use my Phillips cig. light adapter and tape adapter with my SlimX, but that didn't work. The Iriver car kit is 30 dollars!!!

I obviously don't want to spend that much, so I was wondering what experience others might have with non-iriver car kits.

EDIT: Apparently there is some confusion to my post. I have a SlimX CD/MP3 Player. I would like to use it in my car. I had a Phillips CD player with a car kit. I tried to use the Phillips CD car kit with my SlimX player. It didn't work. I was the impression that the SlimX MP3/CD player would only work with the Iriver Car kit, since they are from the same company. I was wondering if anyone else has been using a non-Iriver car kit to connect their SlimX to their car stereo.

Doubt you can use any Car kit on the IRiver, it has that small female plug for the power input... Probably gonna have to bite the bullet and buy the Iriver kit
