i cant imagine i would have anything that important to say, at any time..but if it was, then i sure wouldn't use AIM

That's what I used to think, but I've changed lately and have become very security-paranoid.

err.when they say secure u can always get screwed if someoen intercepts ur data beofre it leaves the machine rite? or if someone llooks at ur im when it passes through the aim serverS?

Instant messanger is very insecure to begin with. If you want secure communications go with something along the lines of encrypted irc or other encrypted chat programs (I think jabber can do this).
