Anyone use Scottrade?

I'm thinking about getting into stocks. I've heard good things about Scottrade, would they be the best brokerage to use?

Also, if anyone can get me a referral to them so I can get some free trades... 😉

Getting into stock index mutual funds would be much less risky for a long term investment, but if you worship Gamblor then many people here are happy with scottrade.

i have never used scottrade but i do use and recommend ameritrade.

Referal sent. If you are going to do some serious trading, then scottrades execution isn't the greatest (i'm talking about daytrading and such). If you want to buy mutuals as well, firsttrade would be a better choice. I do like having a local branch for scottrade.

I have thought about getting into mutual funds also, and want something kind of risky with some opportunity for high returns that I can transfer over to lower risk steady returns later. Any ideas on some mutual funds to look at? I was looking at picking up some enery funds. Whaddya think.

For long term mutual fund investing I recommend Vanguard.com index funds like VFINX, VEXMX, etc.

They have many domestic and international index funds with very low management fees.

Mutual funds are good, but I prefer individual stocks myself. Much higher yields for my portfolio.

what the heck....i have given my 3 different email addresses to a whole bunch of people on ATOT for referrals, and NONE of them have come in, even though they have used my correct addreses...drnickriviera, i even used your link to paste in my email address, and got nothing

anyone know what's going on? everyone said they delivered it to my email addresses. have y'all ever had issues delivering referrals on scottrade?
