I just bought a Maha MH-C124S charger but the instructions are very vague. Anyone know the charging time of an 1800 mAh battery. I know my description is vague but so's the instructions that came in the box:disgust: Oh yeah, it did say to charge 1300mAh batteries for 17~22 hrs. so could I just do the math for 1800mah?!?!?

Anyone please help,

You're gonna hate that charger if you plan on use it more than ocassionally. Basically you can do the simple math for caapcity difference like that, but add a bit to compensate at the end.

1.38 x 19.5=27hrs.. add 10 percent. so thats about 30hrs.

THANX, wow that was fast. Do you recommend a charger? I need one that can charge 1,2,3,4 independently because my portable TV uses 3 batteries so I always have an odd number.

Thanx again,

yea very hard to find independant ones.

i'm not sure about the first one jerboy listed (ie, the one that you already have), but the second two are microprocessor controlled, with delta v and zero slope detection. this is a very good thing... it means you don't have to calculate charge times, ie, there is no chance of your batteries getting damaged if you leave them in there too long...

i don't know any independant ones that are good, but i use a radioshack 23-422, which is quite good.

well good luck finding a good independant one :)

Here is a link to a Quest Charging kit. I have been using one similar to it(previous model) for over a year and have been well pleased with its performance. It offers the Independent charging of 1 to 4 AA or AAA cells in 1 to 3 hours.

I heard that fast chargers kill your batteries much quicker.

I bought one that does 4 1600mAh batteries in about 15 hours.....suits me, just run it overnight and keep a spare set of Duracell for emergencies

I bought some energizer 1800 NiMHs. They came with a charger. It charges them for however long they need, then shuts off. It's a nice feature. Look for Energizer ACCU-charges. I use the batteries in my mp3 players, digicam, visor deluxe.

That's actually false. Lots of myths about batteries out there...Ni-MH's have no "memory" like nicads, but they do drop their charge quickly while sitting on the shelf and not being used.

My charger (a panasonic) charges 1600mah batteries in 5 hours

Darn, where was this thread when I was looking for a charger? More like, where was this Quest charger at Thomas distributing when back when I ordered? This charger looks like the one to get. About $40 including 4 1600 mAh AA Ni-MH cells.

I found them and the charger while I was looking for an independent battery charger for the same reason as mentioned above. I had bought a pair of wireless headphones that eats a lot of batteries and I didn't want to try and keep up with which ones were charged or not(having to charge in pairs, etc.).
