Since you really didn't make clear what it is you want to do, our experience one way or the other might be of little use to you. However, one thing is fact - If you have only one phone line into your home, you can't really do more than one thing at a time.
. With the call-waiting feature you will get a few seconds at most to decide what you want more - continue your internet session, or let a call or fax come in (you will want caller ID as well so you can quickly tell where the call is coming from in order to make any kind of decision). Internet session can't be put on hold for very long, so if you choose to let a fax or call come thru, you will lose your internet session.
. IMO, it's much better to have two lines so you really can do two things at the same time - and at that point, DSL or cable modem options should be strongly considered.
