Anyone use optimized Firefox

Opera is still faster than FF. Noscript and Greasemonkey were the only two compelling reasons I've ever found to use FF.

If you read some pages on this forum http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=42 I think you will find messing about with builds is the real attraction, not the "blazing fast" difference. They are for headlines.

Many builds for each platform so possible there are some uses, does not have to be related to speed. Could be some weird patch not implemented by Mozilla, for whatever reason.

Some years ago since I tried them on Windows but if you test then definitely do it on a new profile and be careful with any tweaks you might have in a user.js file. These builds often have that already, changed defaults. What Pigfoot calls "my tweaks profile patch" http://weblog.pigfoot.org/pigfoot/ the only one I remember. Easier to test yourself since placebo plays a big role 😉 But keep profiles separated.

OK. I don't really see a difference in speed.

Just for the record, i'm running Windows 7 RC on an HP laptop with an AMD TL 2.8 GHz processor
