Question Anyone use one of these PCIe extension cables.

I am doing some upgrading and was wondering if these work and if there is any lose of performance. I usually full tower cases because video cards are getting huge and hate having to shoe horn things in. But I am looking to upgrade some computers with small cases.

There called risers.
And no you don't lose performance on them, unless you get a wrong riser, like one for PCI-E 3.0 and your running it off a PCI-E 4.0 slot.

Personally unless its for a old build, and you never intend to use it outside that build, id get a pci-e 4.0 riser.

They are more expensive tho.

I'm upgrading an Optiplex 9020 I just picked up and the case is pretty small so it's limiting the video cards I can use so no reason the spend the extra money on a PCIe 4.0.
