good if you can afford it. their plans seem to be the best. im thinking business ppl would prefer this over cingular since they wont get "system busy" messages and what not.

j/k :D

I don't use them myself, but have seen their service in action and it seems good. My complaint is that their phones are large and bulky. They do have plans with UNLIMITED anytime incoming calls.

Hrm, my cousin had a pair of these in L.A. and their really useful. That walkie talkie mode is really nice when you need to ask someone something quickly.
Oh, and if you go skiing, their also useful up on the lsopes....

I use their service--I like it. No complaints other than their service coverage is not as large as SprintPCS. The two-way feature is extremely useful, as is their wireless web.

The phone selection used to be really bad, but has gotten a lot better. I have the i85s and find its size to be just right. The have a new model, the i90c (I think?) which flips into an ultra-small size--has a blue backlight to boot.

The only other problem with Nextel is that they're expensive. But worth it IMHO. I hardly ever get dropped calls.

We are thinking of getting three phones with one plan ,since most of our calls are within the family and you don't have to pay for those calls.

re their Direct Connect feature: I see that you can use an earpiece to keep conversations private, but can just any goober with a scanner listen to the calls across the airwaves (since it's radio), or is it as secure as a normal cell call?

It's not a radio, it's a regular cell signal. However it interacts with the customer like a radio. (you can't say anything while someone is talking to you)

i went to their website. jeez..look at all those plans. if you have a friend who already has a nextel, is it easy to program to talk to him? and what if another friend gets it next month. is it just as easy to add additional people? And what's this about rates for groups?
