Anyone use Newsfeeds.com?

Thinking of changing from Airnews to Newsfeeds. Anyone have any first hand experience with them? I'd like to get a little feedback before I make the leap. They certainly talk a good game on their page.

Thanks

I use them. I have the cheapest service ($10 per month) and I have to say their completion rate could be a lot better. You can get a lot of complete files but for anything really big (Babylon 5 eps for example, which is the initial reason I subscribed to the service) there's usually one or two files missing out of the whole set. Overall they're not bad for the price though (unlimited unlogged transfers. most services i checked into had a bandwidth limit on how much you could transfer. Having a T1 internet connection at my disposal, that just doesn't sit well w/ me). It's also quite possible (actually probable) that their better servers you get w/ the more expensive service could have a much higher completion rate.

Have you consider newsguy? they are not bad as well.. $70 a year or so.. have about 20K to 30K groups compare to the newsfeed's 70K or so. and I haven't have much problem with newsguy. They are also trying to filter the spams, but you know that sometimes it's hard. not sure about if newsfeeds filter for spam or not. but their website
looks impressive. I just don't want to spend that much money on the NNTP (newsfeed cost double what I pay for right now)

I use newsfeeds. Well, until I finally get around to unsubscribing.

It's pretty rare that you find a complete file on there. Always missing parts or has incomplete files. Not worth the effort.

I've been through like five, in the last eight months. They all suck, anymore.

I just started using Newsfeeds and I think they're pretty good. Of course the only thing I have to compare them to is my ISP @Home, and @Home is lightning fast but doesnt carry some of the 'good' groups. I have had trouble with some of their specialized servers but the goliaths always seem to be ok. If you go to alt.binaries.news-server-comparison you will generally hear bad things about Newsfeeds and more praise for Giganews and Easynews. I'm pleased myself. I use NewsPro which connects to multiple servers and allows you to merge headers from multiple newsgroups and I havent had any completion problems yet. Although Newspro doesnt seem to be very stable, maybe im pushing it to its limit 😉
