Anyone use Motherboard Repair before?

Talking about: http://www.motherboardrepair.com

I bent two pins on my beloved 3200+ processor and before pronouncing it dead, I figure $5 is worth a try. And if he can get it working, then $35 for his service was a bargain. But how good is his quality? He offers a 1 year warranty (which is good), but anyone have pictures of his craftsmanship on a processor?

I emailed him two days ago and haven't received a response, it's probably because it's the holiday season (or he's @ CES), but anyone know his average turn-around time?

No, the guy also does processor pin repair. The motherboard is fine.

I tried bending the pins back (they were really bent picture) and one broke off. I decided to leave the other one alone and that one broke off somehow while it was in it's little padded box/container thing.

i had an intel processor come direct from intel from one of the retail employee programs come with an entire row of bent pins. think i used an exacto knife or something to bend them back. never had a problem with it.

on a side note, i have an ecs mb that i fried due to my own stupidity. imho not worth the $50 he wants to "fix" it. makes a lovely wall decoration tho.

ps. the picture does nothing. cant see any bent or missing pins

Bottom right corner. They look like they are melted over, but they were really smushed.

Not quite sure. I'm told the chip probably wasn't sitting evenly (even though it may appear to be) on the socket and the retention locked it in, those two pins got smushed.

If AMD won't cover it, I'm seeing if AMEX will cover it. Amex.

Bent pins can usually be straightened using a butter knife, razor blade or, as others have suggested, a mechanical pencil. If your processor has a broken pin don't waste your money. He can't fix it.

For 1 to 5 missing pins: $30.00 + $3.85 for shipping USD.
For more than 5 pins E-Mail me for a quote.
If the processor fails to boot there is no charge other than return shipping (if you want the processor back).

I would assume missing means missing/gone/not attached pins.

More power to him and you. I would be interested in how he replaces the missing pins.

He's probably a jeweler. I'm pretty sure you can buy the pins at mouser.com too.
