It came with a MaximumPC demo disk and I am wondering whether or not to install it...

I still use the older version 4.95 (not freeware) when it was Cowan Jet Audio. It is by far the best sounding audio player I have ever used and has a ton of features, including video player, MP3 ripping etc in an impressive interface. I use it to listen to audio without accompanying graphics. I tried the new freeware? version 5 when it first came out and was not impressed because it was a resource hog, some features did not work, and I thought the sound quality was not as good as the older version. I deleted it from my system. Maybe things have changed since then, but I am happy with the older version.

I use the latest free version (5.01), and I love it.

Sounds great, tons of features including burning, converting, ripping. Plays Real media, Windows media, many more.

Cool - I am setting up my new PC and installing and configuring Winamp, RazorLAME and EAC is a lot of work. This should ease up on things and give me time to finally play NOLF 2
