anyone use hotmail?

what percent of ur mail is spam? i usually get about 30 new mails each day...usually 28 or 29 of them are spam. i tried to use the filters to filter out specific words and also block senders. both lists became full....and i am still getting and overwhelming ratio of spam:legit mail.

I use it too, had same account for past 3 years. Get about 5-10 spam mails a day.

get about 4 emails per day atleast being spam.. I dont get my importnat email there.. for that there is yahoo.. but since the userid for my hotmail and yahoo is the same sometimes they do show up in yahoo too.

i keep a junk account to get free stuff as pointed out by the HD forum

Just reply to all of them and ask them to take you off their mailing lists

hey.. ive got something that may help.. go to "junk mail filters" under options and set it on high... that should help.. just make sure you go through it periodically to make sure that nothings goin in there that you wanna keep... and if something does get there that you want, just tell em ONE time, and from then on, all letters from that address will go to your inbox....

im not talking about the "custom filters".. im talkin about the specific "junk mail filters"... it works pretty well for me.. i get maybe one or two a day in my inbox.. and like 15 or so in the junk mail box... rarely ever get something that i wanna keep in the junk mail either.. so... good luck w/ that crap...

Log in to Hotmail, choose "Options", then choose "Junk Mail Filter", set this to high. Worked for me. Also, I tweaked the custom filters a little bit by seeing what other E-mail addresses tended to end up with mine on spam. I have the filter set to reject any E-mail that has any of those addresses in the To: line. If you get E-mail from friends that starts to show up in the "bulk mail" box because hotmail thinks they are spam, then just add your friends' E-mail addresses to the "safe list" under the "Optoins" tab.
