I'm still stuck on digital cable, so the first 80 channels are still analog NTSC (never the same color :p) and generally noisy/yucky.

How does SD come through on FIOS? Does it look straight digital like a good 480p DVD source, or does it just look like they just digitally encoded a NTSC signal?

I've got FIOS and the local SD channels (like fox, abc, public broadcasting, etc) look OK. They are definitely better than they looked when I had analog cable with Bright House. Starting at channel 50 and all the way up to the HD channels(thing like USA, TNT, Discovery etc.) they look much better, not quite as good as a 480p DVD but close. Channels 50 and up look good enough that I don't mind watching them on my projector. I usually try to avoid watching to lower channels on the projector but they look great on a 27" CRT.
