anyone use Eudora Pro? How do i archive?

I have emails since '96, and my boxes are getting full.
how do i start up an archive?

If you made new folders to organize your e-mails, go into the directory where you installed Eudora and look for the directories (not files) with the *.fol extension. Just copy the entire *.fol directory to wherever you wish to back it up to and then delete it.

If you ever wanna re-read those e-mails, just copy the *.fol directory back into where they came from originally. But you can only do this if you haven't named a new folder with the same name. This isn't really a problem though since you can rename the *.fol directory name and Eudora will recognize the change.

Also, if you only wanna copy specific mailboxes, go into the *.fol directory and then copy the respective *.mbx and *.toc files for the ones you wanna backup. Or if you haven't made separate folders, you can copy the *.mbx and *.toc files from Eudora's main directory.

i'm not sure if this is the right way to do or not, but it works..

you need to create a new mail folder in eudora(let call it 'archive') then move the mails that you want to archive into the new archive folder.. once you done that, load up window's explorer and go into the directory which you installed eudora(it might be under program files/eudora) and you will see a folder/directory(in this case the directory should be called 'archive.folder' or something similar to that)
highlight that directory and right click your mouse and use your archiving program(e.g. winzip or winrar..etc) and archive it.. after that, move the archived file into somewhere else(maybe a floppy) and delete the mail folder(in this case is 'archive.folder') from windows explorer..

if you want to read your archived mails again, just decompress the archive into the eudora directory again, you should be able to read them again.
