Anyone use DFX plugin for winamp?

Supposedly it makes ur mp3's sound a lot better but maybe I'm just not doing it right cuz it sounds just "quieter" then normal. Am I supposed to keep my winamp equalizer on while using DFX or should I turn it off? I can hear the difference between the presets on DFX but unless i'm doing something wrong I think I like the winamp equalizer more then DFX...
