Anyone use Dell LCDs for photo editing, where color accuracy is required?

The BenQ is brighter, but this seems to throw off the color accuracy. My Dell 2001fp's colors look rather mundane and not as bright, but the colors are very natural, very accurate.

Should I sell my BenQ and get another 2001fp? I've heard people say that the 2005fpw version is brighter than the aging 2001fp, but won't this decrease color accuracy?

I know it's an old post but it's just a shame to leave it age without a single reply.

Regardless of monitor be it CRT or LCD, if color accuracy is important then get a device for calibrating. I use a Colorvision Spyder Pro and am quite pleased with the accuracy of my Dell 2001FP's. In the photoshop/imaging world there are of course preferences in hardware for best color reproduction but across the board no one argues that you really should calibrate whatever monitor it is that you're using.

Of course, you can always low-tech the solution by printing various color specific images, tweaking your monitor and color profiles until your prints match your screen image.
